John F. Bonamo, M.D., MS, FACOG, FACPE, Executive Vice President and Chief Medical and Quality Officer, RWJBarnabas Health, talks about the many locations the COVID-19 vaccines are available in New Jersey.
TRANSCRIPT:
So, COVID-19 vaccines were first released in New Jersey to all of the acute care hospitals and the long-term care facilities. But only a week after that, COVID-19 vaccines started to become available on something called mega sites, which are really coming all over the state. As well, there will be a significant number of microsites. So, mega-sites are very often in very well-known places.
There's one in the building that used to be the Sears at Livingston Mall.
There's one that used to be the Sears at Rockaway Mall.
There's one in West Orange that used to be a Kmart.
They're in locations that people know, they can get to, they can park.
They’re large facilities that can manage a lot of people and still manage social distancing.
Shoprites -- now many Shoprites in New Jersey now have COVID-19 vaccines available.
Many health departments, many federal qualified health centers, as there's going to be, I believe, COVID-19 vaccine on every corner.
Right now, there are more than 100 sites available in New Jersey, and by the end of January, there will be probably 200 sites available in New Jersey.
So, the COVID-19 vaccine will be available. It'll be available close to everyone's home.
It is the safest, smartest thing to do to protect yourself, your family, your workers, and do your part to help stop this terrible virus. Get vaccinated.
