May 20, 2019 Volunteer Awards/Auxiliary Annual Meeting

A chance to give back to those who give selflessly to others

Trinitas Regional Medical Center held a multi-faceted event at the Westwood in Garwood. While it was billed as the Annual Volunteer Awards Luncheon and Auxiliary Annual Meeting, it turned out to be much more as Trinitas strives to give back to those who give their time, and talents, to help hospital patients and others in need.

Volunteers were honored for their years of service and their daily contributions to serving others through a variety of acts of kindness and completion of tasks that, in some cases, may not otherwise not be done. The Trinitas Auxiliary also had their Annual Meeting at the event, and their contributions in raising money for programs, services and equipment were recognized, with gratitude, by the hospital. Entitled, "Volunteers: The Heart of Our Team," this event couldn't have had a more appropriate name.

While the regular Volunteers and Auxilians were feted, Trinitas also recognized the contributions of other groups who have come to Trinitas to perform service activities, and organizations who provide the funding for programs like Collegiate Medical Mentoring, or Nurse Camp, and others.

All in all, it was a great day for Trinitas to say "thank you" to a lot of people who, in their own ways, give of themselves in the hope of helping someone else, often at a time of need. "We love our volunteers and we appreciate everything they do for patients, visitors and employees," said Lisa Liss, CVM, Director of Volunteer Services. "They make the hospital a better place, and they have a positive impact on everyone with whom they come in contact."

For anyone interested in becoming a Volunteer, please contact Lisa at 908-994-5164. If you're interested in joining the Auxiliary, or if you want information on any of the programs mentioned, please ask Lisa and she will provide information and direction.
