Trinitas President and CEO Named 2019 Outstanding Healthcare Executive
Trinitas Regional Medical Center's President and CEO Gary S. Horan, FACHE, is the recipient of 2019's Outstanding Healthcare Executive Award by the Edward J. Ill Excellence in Medicine Foundation and MDAdvantage.
"We honor those outstanding physicians, scientists and leaders in healthcare whose commitment to patient care, education, research and public service have significantly impacted the delivery of healthcare in New Jersey and around the world," explained Paul J. Hirsch, MD, Chairman of the EJI Excellence in Medicine Foundation.
The Outstanding Healthcare Executive Award is presented to an executive in a healthcare-related organization or field who has demonstrated exceptional leadership in the enhancement of patient care and medical practice in New Jersey.
Horan joined Trinitas Health and Trinitas Regional Medical Center as President and CEO in 2001. He has extensive experience in healthcare leadership among hospitals in New Jersey and New York. Before coming to Trinitas, he served for 11 years as the President and CEO of Our Lady of Mercy Healthcare System, Bronx, New York. He is past Chairman and current Vice Chairman of the Hospital Alliance of New Jersey, and past Chairman and current member of the Board of Governors of the Greater New York Hospital Association. Mr. Horan currently serves as Chairman of the Board of the Catholic Healthcare Partnership of New Jersey and he is also a member of the Board of Directors of the New Jersey State Chamber of Commerce.
Horan, a Sea Girt resident, is a 1966 alumnus of Xavier High School. He earned his BS degree in Economics from St. Peter's College, Jersey City, and his MA degree in Health Care Administration from The George Washington University School of Government and Business, Department of Health Care Administration, Washington, DC.
