West Orange, NJ – July 23, 2019 – RWJBarnabas Health today announced Indu Lew, PharmD., as Senior Vice President and Chief Pharmacy Officer, effective immediately. Responsible for the oversight and management of the system’s Pharmacy Enterprise, Dr. Lew will provide strategic leadership for its 23 pharmacy divisions. In her new role, Dr. Lew will manage the pharmaceutical supply chain, ensure quality outcomes through performance improvement activities, enhance the use of information systems and work to optimize the overall pharmacy and patient care environments. Dr. Robert T. Adamson, PharmD, FASHP, who previously held the position, has been named Senior Vice President and Operational Project Director, EPIC Implementation. Both positions are effective immediately.
Dr. Lew will report to John Bonamo, M.D., MS, FACOG, FACPE, Executive Vice President, Chief Medical and Quality Officer, who oversees multiple service line endeavors across the system.

Since beginning her career at RWJBarnabas Health in 2002, Dr. Lew has held a variety of clinical and leadership positions, most recently as Vice President of Corporate Pharmacy. In this role, Dr. Lew spearheaded the system-wide integration of clinical pharmacy services and assisted in the expansion of RWJBarnabas Health’s Pharmacy Residency Programs. As Director of Education and Research, she procured education grants, performed medical research and provided educational seminars to fellow health care practitioners. In addition, Dr. Lew previously served as Vice President of IDEAS, a Barnabas Health Medical Communications Company.
Dr. Lew currently serves on multiple committees within the system, including the Executive Pharmacy Council, the Women’s Leadership Alliance, the Infectious Diseases Collaborative, the RWJBH-RBHS Affiliation Research Subcommittee, the Quality Cabinet and Executive Quality Cabinet.

Prior to joining RWJBarnabas Health, Dr. Lew worked with leading pharmaceutical companies and health care facilities across the state. In her various roles, she was responsible for coordinating medication management programs, conducting clinical medication use evaluations and participating in the continued education of the medical and professional staff.
Dr. Lew earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University and her Doctor of Pharmacy from University of Florida. She has authored and co-authored over 65 abstracts and manuscripts and delivered more than 450 lectures on pharmacy administration, leadership, oncology supportive care and internal medicine.
Dr. Lew currently serves on several boards, including ASHP’s Section Advisory Group on MultiHospital Pharmacy Executives Committee, the School of Pharmacy at Farleigh Dickinson University and the editorial board of Pharmacy Practice News. In 2009, she was honored with the Gregory Santora Pharmacist of the Year Leadership award by the New Jersey Society of Health-System Pharmacists. She is a resident of Freehold, New Jersey.
