Mihae Song, MD, a fellowship-trained and board-certified physician specializing in gynecologic oncology, recently joined the medical staff of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in Somerville, an RWJBarnabas Health facility. Dr. Song will see patients in Somerville, as well as Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey in New Brunswick. She will also serve as Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Dr. Song’s clinical interests include ovarian cancer, endometrial cancer, cervical cancer, vulvar cancer and clinical trials.
The author of numerous publications and abstracts focusing on women’s health and gynecologic malignancies, Dr. Song has been recognized for her work in the field including receiving an award for excellence in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery from the American Urogynecology Society and the Abraham J. Rongy Award for Excellence in obstetrics and gynecology from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine.
Dr. Song earned a medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn, NY after earning a bachelor of art’s degree in neuroscience and behavior from Columbia College, Columbia University in New York, NY. She completed a residency in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, NJ and a fellowship ion the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women’s Health at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. Dr. Song is a member of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
In her free time, Dr. Song enjoys freelance photography, traveling and playing the piano.
