A: Reduce the sugar by 1/3 to ½ (e.g. recipe calls for one cup, use 2/3 cup). Revitalize in other ways like adding cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, or non-artificial flavorings such as vanilla or almond extract.
Don’t: use oils or diet, whipped or tub margarine instead of butter. Do not use low fat sour cream either.
Do: try cutting the amount of butter by 1/3 to 1/2 (if so, you may need to reduce baking time), and/or use dried fruit instead of chocolate chips.
