Theresa M. Redling, DO, FACP - Medical Director
Dr. Redling is board certified in Geriatric Medicine, Internal Medicine, Hospice and Palliative Care. Dr. Redling joined Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center (formerly Saint Barnabas Medical Center) in 2012 after holding the Geriatric Chief position at position of Chief of Geriatrics at Beth Israel Medical Center, New York City and Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, Newark, NJ.
Her interests include caring for complex elders, diagnosis and treatment, including new drug trials for Alzheimer's and related dementias and promoting, teaching and improving the care for health system elders. Dr. Redling has a primary care and consultative practice a The Center for Geriatric Health and Disease Management and also manages her own patients if they require hospitalization at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center. In addition, Dr. Redling provides consultative care at Cooperman Barnabas for hospitalized elders, assisting other physicians in best practices for hospital-based elder care. She also teaches physicians in training, medical students and many other health care practitioners the art of Geriatric medicine.
Gerald Tramontano, PhD - Neuropsychologist
Dr. Tramontano has 18 years experience as a practicing clinical neuropsychologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of various cognitive, neurobehavioral and neuropsychiatric disorders. He is currently in private practice at the NeuroCognitive Institute (NCI). NCI is affiliated with Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center and Newark Beth Israel Medical Center where he directs services for their outpatient Memory Disorder Clinics within Geriatrics in the Department of Medicine. Prior to entering private practice he was the Director of the Traumatic Brain Injury Program at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation.
After obtaining his doctorate at St. John's University in Clinical Psychology; he completed his internship at Tufts University School of Medicine Boston VA Consortium and his residency and fellowship in clinical neuropsychology and research psychopharmacology at Brown University School of Medicine.
His clinical research expertise is within the neurosciences – more specifically, dementia producing neurodegenerative diseases and other cognitive disorders. He has completed approximately 50 clinical trials. Dr. Tramontano is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and faculty member of the Cerebral Dysfunction Clinic at the medical school. He is an Assistant Professor in Psychology at St. John's University teaching clinical neuropsychology in the Ph.D. Clinical Psychology Program.
Maisha Cheatham - Medical Assistant
Maisha has over seven years of experience, including inpatient and outpatient settings. She has a gift for helping patients feel at ease and a dedication for providing excellent care to the elderly.
