Thoracic Surgery Tests and Procedures
Our thoracic surgery team provides comprehensive care to patients with disorders of the chest. We treat patient with diseases of the lung, esophagus, trachea, pleura (lining of the chest), and mediastinum (middle section of the chest). Working with a multidisciplinary team of medical and radiation oncologists, pulmonologists, gastroenterologists, dedicated thoracic nurse practitioners, nurses, respiratory therapists, social workers, and care coordinators, we strive to provide compassionate high quality coordinated care for our patients.
Our surgeons are skilled with minimally invasive surgical techniques. The majority of patients have video-assisted thoracoscopic, laparoscopic, or robotic surgeries. By using small incisions, our surgeons minimize blood loss and reduce postoperative pain leading to shorter hospital stays and a faster recovery to daily activities.
