Patients looking for outpatient mental health support can also look to our two intensive outpatient programs (IOP), the Stepping Stones Program and the Intensive Outpatient Program for General Mood and Anxiety Disorders. IOP treatment differs from typical outpatient care due to its use of a highly organized treatment team approach, involving both individual therapy and medication education and management.
Stepping Stones Program
The Stepping Stones Program is tailored to support all major psychiatric disorders, while also offering addiction/recovery groups for those suffering from co-occurring substance abuse disorders. Our intensive outpatient care offers a comprehensive approach to mental illness through an intensive treatment team approach aimed at addressing both the unique and broad mental health issues people face on a daily basis.
The program is offered at our Behavioral Health Center in Toms River, New Jersey.
Intensive Outpatient Program for General Mood and Anxiety Disorders
This Intensive Outpatient Program for General Mood and Anxiety Disorders is designed for individuals who wish to maintain their daily routine and also require more intensive therapy. Based on dialectical behavior therapy (DBT-informed), this program, offered in partnership with Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care (UBHC) addresses anxiety and depression. IOP sessions require a minimum of 3 days per week with 9 to 12 hours per week. The program includes:
- Intensive group therapy
- Psycho-education
- Individual and family therapy
