The National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) is the professional association for pediatric nurse practitioners (PNPs) and all pediatric-focused advanced registered nurses (APRNs). Members include national child health experts, respected authors, distinguished faculty, and practicing clinicians who represent the many facets of pediatric health care delivery.
The Dr. Judith Lothian Young Alumni Award is given to those who have graduated from Seton Hall University’s (SHU) College of Nursing undergraduate or graduate programs within the past 10 years and have distinguished themselves through their professional nursing achievements. Dr. Keefe Marcoux’s doctorate dissertation at SHU focused on parents’ perception of family-centered care in the critical care environment and how the provision of this care influenced parental stress.
Dr. Kelly Keefe Marcoux has distinguished herself as a leader in pediatric health care, with decades of experience in pediatric nursing and medicine, primarily as a Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and administrator. Her depth of knowledge comes from over 30 years’ experience in pediatric acute care, beginning as the first Pediatric Critical Care Nurse Practitioner in the tri-state area.
“I’m proud tojoin the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and to be honored with the Dr. Judith Lothian Young Alumni Award,” said Dr. Keefe Marcoux. “My goal is to continue advocating for pediatric nurse practitioners to ensure they have access to top practices, research, and resources. Additionally, my team and I are steadfastly committed to finding ways to better serve pediatric patients throughout the region.”
Dr. Keefe Marcoux has presented nationally and internationally on topics ranging from family-centered care to APN productivity. She has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals as well as numerous book chapters on a variety of topics. Additionally, she developed the first Pediatric APN Fellowship programs in Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics and Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in the United States.
“I’m continuously impressed by the work of my esteemed colleague, Dr. Keefe Marcoux. Her dedication to the patients, families and employees of Children’s Specialized Hospital is truly awe-inspiring and these recognitions are well-deserved,” said Matthew B. McDonald, MD, President and CEO, Children’s Specialized Hospital. “On behalf of the entire CSH team, we congratulate her on these achievements and thank her for her commitment in ensuring every child can reach their full potential.”
