Military: Active Duty, Veterans and Families

RWJBarnabas Health recognizes the immense contribution of our veterans, active-duty service members and their loved ones. There are a wide range of federal, State and local resources to which our New Jersey service members are entitled to of which provide benefits in supporting their health and wellness.

Veterans make up a unique cohort of New Jersey’s population, comprising just over 299,000 brave men and women. Veterans struggling with the aftermath of their military experience may experience:

  • Feelings of isolation and hopelessness
  • Anger, irritability or frustration
  • Loss of interest in activities that used to be enjoyable
  • Relationship problems
  • Frequent reminders of past traumatic events
  • Difficulty eating or sleeping
  • Drug and alcohol use
