Infectious Diseases Fellowship
Welcome
The Infectious Diseases fellowship at the Newark Beth Israel Medical center is a two-year program designed to train future infectious diseases clinicians. The fellowship provides a broad-based clinical experience in the practice of infectious diseases including diagnosis, management and prevention application of evidence-based methods of problem solving, decision-making and an approach to patient care, driven by humanistic and professional values. The Infectious Diseases Specialist is expected to master the clinical skills in interviewing, physical examination, differential diagnosis, diagnostic testing strategies, therapeutic options, counseling and disease prevention. This curriculum is intended to systematically outline the educational experience available for the ID fellows during their 2 years of training. Our goal is to assure their development into independent Infectious Diseases Consultants, capable of providing expert care.
