Gerardo Chiricolo, MD, FACEP Gerardo Chiricolo, MD, FACEP
Chair, Department of Emergency Medicine, Regional Director of Emergency Ultrasound for RWJBH EHM Services, Associate Clinical Professor, Rutgers RWJ

Dr. Chiricolo graduated from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara and completed the Fifth Pathway Program at New York Medical College, Valhalla, New York. He completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at North Shore University Hospital and his Ultrasound Fellowship at North Shore University Hospital. Dr. Chiricolo served as Vice Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine and Chief of the Clinical Ultrasound Division at New York Presbyterian-Brooklyn Methodist Hospital prior to becoming the Chair of the Emergency Department at Community Medical Center. Dr. Chiricolo has held national leadership positions, including Chair of the Ultrasound Section of the American College of Emergency Physicians and Chair of the Board of Governors for the Clinical Ultrasound Accreditation Program for the American College of Emergency Physicians. He has also served as an assistant professor at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York since 2013 and has served as a consultant to a variety of professional organizations. He has spoken nationally and internationally at both Emergency Medicine and Ultrasound-related conferences and been published in multiple peer-reviewed medical publications. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, sports especially soccer, and traveling.


Danielle Biggs, MD, FACEPDanielle Biggs, MD, FACEP

Dr. Biggs received her medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine. She completed residency in Emergency Medicine at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ, where she was voted “Rookie of the Year” as an intern and later became Chief Resident. After residency, she stayed at Morristown where she completed an Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship, the ACEP Teaching Fellowship, and was a part of the core faculty. She was voted “Most Valuable Contributor” to the residency program at MMC for the 2019-2020 academic year. Dr. Biggs also successfully implemented ultrasound education programs for physicians and APPs at community sites within the Atlantic Health System. She is passionate about ultrasound, residency education, and wellness. She is always looking for innovative ways to teach ultrasound to make it fun, engaging, and less intimidating for medical students, residents, and her colleagues. Her goal is always to make everyone as excited about ultrasound as she is! In her free time, she loves spending time with her two daughters, Scarlett & Mikayla, shopping, and traveling.


Jeff Greco, MD, FACEP Jeff Greco, MD, FACEP
Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship Director, Department of Emergency Medicine

Dr. Greco received his medical degree from SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, NY. Following medical school, Dr. Greco went on to pursue his emergency medicine residency at Northwell - Northshore University Hospital. He stayed at Northwell for an additional year to complete an emergency medicine ultrasound fellowship. Dr. Greco became clinical and academic core faculty at NY-Presbyterian Queens, ultimately taking over that department's emergency ultrasound division and fellowship. He has served as an assistant professor at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City. Additionally, he achieved ABEM's Focused Practice Designation in Advanced Emergency Ultrasonography in 2022. Dr. Greco has a strong interest in medical education. Within point-of-care ultrasonography Dr. Greco has a passion for advanced echocardiography, regional anesthesia, and genitourinary studies. He has developed interactive regional ultrasound courses, and has presented at both regional and national conferences.


Mary Rometti, MDMary Rometti, MD
Emergency Ultrasound Medical Student Director, Department of Emergency Medicine

Dr. Rometti graduated from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City, Kansas. She completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS) in New Brunswick, NJ where she was also Chief Resident. After residency, she completed an Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Fellowship at Rutgers-RWJMS. The utility of ultrasound as a diagnostic tool in the acute work-up of decompensating patients and the opportunity to teach all things ultrasound are a few aspects that initially drew her to pursue an ultrasound fellowship. Dr. Rometti’s medical interests include ultrasound and medical education, specifically getting to teach ultrasound to medical students and residents. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, hiking, and traveling.


Mark Ramzy, DO, FAAEMMark Ramzy, DO, FAAEM
Core Faculty, Ultrasound Faculty, Emergency Medicine Residency

Dr. Mark Ramzy is an emergency medicine physician and intensivist, with over 18 years of EMS experience. He practices both critical care and emergency medicine. Dr. Ramzy began his Emergency Medicine Residency at Hahnemann Hospital / Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA, and then relocated to Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York to finish his residency training. Afterwards, Dr. Ramzy completed two simultaneous fellowships in critical care medicine and point-of-care ultrasonography at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He is currently a national speaker having given talks at AAEM, ACEP, SCCM and several other conferences. Dr. Ramzy is an author and regular contributor for REBEL EM, critical care content editor for emDOCs and author for the EP Monthly newsletter. He is passionate about medical education through presentation redesign, social media and utilizes his graphic design skills to convey lessons and knowledge through medical infographics.


Yonathan Estrella, MDYonathan Estrella, MD

Dr. Yonathan Estrella received his medical degree from NYU Grossman School of Medicine. He completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at NY-Presbyterian Brooklyn, where he found his passion for ultrasound and its applications. He became involved in research early, and was given the opportunity to present his work at NYACEP. Dr. Estrella stayed at NY-Presbyterian Brooklyn for a Clinical Ultrasound Fellowship which fostered his interest in education. In his free time, he enjoys cooking and exercising.
