The two main kinds of pediatric liver cancer are:

• Hepatoblastoma: This form of liver cancer typically does not spread past the liver, and is common in children under three years old.

Other forms of pediatric liver cancer include undifferentiated embryonal sarcoma and infantile choriocarcinoma.

Childhood liver cancer is broken down into two stages:

• Presurgical: This stage is based on where the tumor has spread to within the liver.
• Postsurgical: This refers to how much of the tumor that still exists after surgery.
